The Avenue Blackbox Theatre is where the cool kids (of all ages) come to play. A Black-owned, inclusive, fully accessible, queer space where social justice and art converge to create dynamic stage productions, installations and live art-making events for and by us.Â
Our focus is on honoring and uplifting BIPOC and LGBTQIA+ voices, art and issues. Your patronage supports building community that elevate voices from the margins, makes space for their art and real time community transformation.

Current exhibit is Black Lives Matter movement and protests through the eyes of local Rochester photographers and photojournalists. Curated by Cocoa Rae. FREE ADMISSION. Donations welcome.
Youth Programs
Regularly run youth groups with the goal of enriching participants' lives by giving them experience to theater arts at every level.
